Hello all. Sorry I haven’t been in touch, but I managed to kill yet another computer. This makes what? Four or five? And everyone wonders why I prefer a pencil and paper. Every year I get a new day planner, and I write stuff down. At the end of the year, I clip all the papers together and stuff them in the bottom drawer of the desk, and guess what! I have all my noted from 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and now 2011 all safe and accessible. Unlike anything that I’ve ever put on a computer. Remember those old floppy disks? Well, they go bad. And don’t get near a microwave with some thumb drive thing in your pocket. CDs scratch. But, barring a house fire or tossing my pages in a lake, I can still read my notes. Take that, Bill Gates.
So anyway, not a lot going on down here at the moment. My volunteers are off doing the holiday thing, J3 (remind me to tell you the story of the Jeannes one day) got the flu. Then I got the flu (spent the weekend lying on the bathroom floor and was exempted from all parties and dinners – yes!). Now J3 is sick again and I have to admit I’m not feeling top of the line either. So we are just holding status quo. And now I hear next week is going to be really, really cold… I think all of the horses are going to get a refresher course in lunging before we get back on!
I got new chaps and a barn coat for xmas. Perfect! Just in time for the cold. Enzo got about forty pounds of dog biscuits, pupperoni (we both need to start jogging) and a squeaky duck toy. He thinks he made out pretty well. So that’s the news.
