Pretty drive this morning

It was pretty this morning, with everything covered in ice. Horses included, but they all seem fine. BA is still mostly on stall rest due to the leg. I’d post pictures, but it would totally gross everyone out. Snake bites can get ugly.

I put Jeff and BA out yesterday so they could get some airtime between downpours (BA in the round pen, Jeff in the front paddock). BA came back in willingly; he is so good about everything. Jeff went on strike. He said he’d been in the stall for 48 hours and he’d be damned if he’d go back in now. OK. Reggie was at the gate answering BA’s cries, so Reg got babysitting duty for the day. When I went back to the barn that evening for chores, guess what? Reggie is in the stall screaming, “I made a mistake! I want to go out!” and Jeff was at the gate in tears, “I made a mistake! Please let me back in!” So, I swapped them and all was right with the world again. Reggie wouldn’t even come to the gate for breakfast this morning, just in case I might put him back in the stall.

So, I caught Dave’s cold. It’s nasty. And I threw my back out several days ago. Can’t figure out how, just woke up in pain. So now, every time I cough I get back spasms. I can’t even put my socks on by myself. If it were someone else, it would be funny, but I’m just having my own little pity party down here.

I think that’s all the news that’s fit to print. See you later.

Ugh Ice. I can handle all the snow you can throw at me, but ice, now that’s a different thing…too many scares driving on ice, though I will agree that it’s pretty to look at out the window.

Hope you and BA get better very soon — I’d say snake bit and back pain are at the same “bad news” level
