Become a Donor: Make a Gift
The TRF receives no government funding and there are no rules that require the racing industry to support its retirees.
Our Thoroughbreds are 100% dependent on the generosity of private donors like you.
Most thoroughbred rescue groups retrain and swiftly adopt out horses for a fee, but the TRF focuses our primary efforts on former racehorses whose racing-related injuries have left them best suited to a quiet life at pasture.
The Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and receives absolutely no public funding. Every bale of hay, quart of grain, halter, horseshoe, and vaccination is made possible by generous donors. Your tax-deductible contribution of any size will go to guarantee a lifetime of comfort and love at Montpelier, which is befitting to such a noble and deserving animal. We also happily accept donations of supplies and services. Visit our Wish List page.
If you prefer to mail your donation, make a check payable to TRF and mail to Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, PO Box 834 Saratoga Springs NY 12866. To make a gift by phone, contact 518-226-0028. We accept all major credit cards.
